Angelo Domingo, PsyD

Psychiatrist

Dr. Angelo Domingo, PsyD is a licensed psychologist who earned his undergraduate degree at New York University and attended graduate school at the University of Hartford in Connecticut. He completed an internship at the VA hospital in Bedford, Massachusetts and then pursued his fellowship in Neuropsychology at Yale University School of Medicine. His clinical experiences at the VA and Yale Medical Center help define his interest in providing care and support to the medically ill and their caregivers. Dr. Domingo strives to support people struggling with burnout and chronic stress, grief and loss and chronic illness.

In Dr. Domingo’s own words, “Therapy is about positive transformation. My mission is to guide that transformation at each step through providing clarity and compassion – for both the person who is ill and their caregiver. Clarity involves a deep understanding of how illness impacts your life so you can learn how to manage symptoms, behaviors, and emotions. My work with grief and loss focuses on the same transformative components, except this time with the survivor – helping them understand the relationships between past experiences and current emotions while moving forward in their lives.”

Dr. Domingo moved to the Sarasota region in 2006, after completing his Yale fellowship. His specialties include psychotherapy and neuropsychological testing with individuals experiencing medically-related physical and cognitive declines stemming from varied conditions including dementias, Parkinson’s disease, and epilepsy. He is also focused on providing support for caregivers who are often unnoticed by our medical system and struggling with chronic stress and self-neglect in the pursuit of being good caregivers.
